Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

CountdownEvent helps you create, customize, and share countdowns for special moments. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use CountdownEvent, we may collect:

  • Account information: your email address and authentication information when you sign in.
  • Countdown information: event names, target dates, time zones, selected designs, and other settings you save.
  • Local storage: preferences and countdown information that your browser may store on your device.
  • Technical information: basic information that may be processed by our hosting provider to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the website.

You can browse publicly available countdown pages without creating an account.

2. How we use your information

We use information to:

  • Create and display your countdowns.
  • Save countdowns to your account so you can access them later.
  • Generate links that let you share countdowns.
  • Maintain, secure, and improve the website.
  • Respond to questions and support requests.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Sharing and public countdown links

Countdowns shared through a link may be accessible to anyone who has that link. Do not include sensitive personal information in countdown titles or other details intended to be shared.

We use third-party services, including Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Google Analytics, and our hosting provider, to operate the service. These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services, subject to their applicable terms and privacy policies.

4. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

CountdownEvent may use browser storage to remember preferences or keep countdown information on your device.

We use Google Analytics, through Firebase, to count visits and see which features people use, such as creating a countdown, copying a link, or saving an image. We send only the page address without its details, such as /countdown/christmas. Countdown names, dates, and share codes are not sent.

In the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland, we do not set analytics cookies. Google receives anonymous signals without cookies instead. Elsewhere, Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart. We do not use advertising features or advertising cookies.

Google processes this information under its privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

5. Data retention and deletion

Account and countdown information is retained for as long as necessary to provide the service or until it is deleted, subject to applicable legal obligations.

You can delete a saved countdown from My Countdowns. That removes it from our servers. Anyone with the old link will no longer be able to open it. Clearing this browser’s data may remove a local copy on your device, but it does not delete countdowns stored in your account.

If you want your account or other associated information deleted, email privacy@countdownevent.com.

6. Security

We use third-party infrastructure and reasonable measures intended to protect information. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for sharing countdown links thoughtfully.

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to object to certain processing.

To exercise an applicable right, contact us using the details below.

8. Children’s privacy

CountdownEvent is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in circumstances where parental consent is required. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information improperly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as CountdownEvent evolves. We will update the date above when changes are made.
